The Spine-Crusher π¦΄π₯
You haven’t truly experienced Korean middle-school friendship until you’ve trusted someone with your lumbar spine! π§±
Welcome to λ§λλ°κΈ° (Maltta-bakgi), roughly translated as “Pile-Driving.”
It is arguably the most physically taxing, ridiculously dangerous, and absurdly hilarious team game in the history of the Korean playground! It makes Leapfrog look like a tea party! πΈβ

Constructing the Human Table ποΈ
The game requires two massive, warring teams βοΈ.
Team A forms “The Horse.” One person (The Anchor/Head) stands against a structural wall π§±. The next person bends 90 degrees and shoves their head firmly between the Anchor’s legs.
The remaining players line up behind them, firmly grabbing the waist of the person in front to create a massive, deeply uncomfortable, continuous human spine! π¦΄

The “Superman” Vault π¦ΈββοΈ
The goal of Team B is simple: completely break the structural integrity of the human horse! ππ₯
The first attacking player sprints at maximum velocity, places their hands on the back of the last defender, and attempts an absolute Olympic-level vault π₯!
They must fly as far forward towards the Anchor as physically possible before crashing down heavily onto the defenders’ spines! πͺ¨

Out of Runway! π
The strategy is brutally reliant on the first jumper! π€ΈββοΈ
If the first attacker performs a weak, tragic jump and lands on the very back of the horse… it is a disaster! π¨
The following attackers now have zero runway! They must miraculously squeeze, stack, or pile up on whatever tiny slivers of back remain! If an attacker falls off the side, hits the ground, or physically cannot fit onto the horse… The Attackers lose! π

Breaking the Spine π₯
Team B’s ultimate win condition is entirely destroying Team A! π£
Massive, heavy players do not care about jumping far. They use the Pile-Driver Tactic! π¨
They jump violently high into the air and specifically target the weakest, smallest defender, dropping their entire dense body weight vertically to physically force the horse to collapse, buckle, and hit the dirt! If the horse breaks… The Attackers win! ππ

The Crushed Captain β
Playing the “Anchor” role requires the mental fortitude of a superhero π¦ΈββοΈ.
As massive, heavy boys violently crash onto the backs of your friends, an immense wave of hundreds of pounds of kinetic energy is instantly transferred directly straight into your groin and stomach! π₯
You are the literal human shock absorber protecting your team from slamming into the brick wall! π§±π₯

The Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors βοΈπͺ¨π
By some miracle, the horse hasn’t collapsed! And all the attackers are firmly seated on the riders! π
What happens now? Total absolute silence. π€«
The player sitting furthest to the front reaches out, and engages in a single, high-stakes game of Rock-Paper-Scissors (κ°μ λ°μ 보) with the standing Anchor! ββοΈ
If the Attacker wins, they attack again! If the Anchor wins, the teams miraculously switch places, and the riders become the horses! π

Pain Forms Lifelong Bonds π«πΆ
There is an unspoken rule: If you survived the sheer physical agony of Malttukbakgi in middle school together, you forms bonds that last absolutely forever βΎοΈ!
Today, those same middle-schoolers are 30-something salarymen π.
They gather around incredible tabletop BBQ, comparing their damaged lower backs while sharing a thick, nostalgic, ultra-premium bowl of JS Brewery Makgeolli πΆ, laughing about the time they collapsed the human bridge! π
